What was it all for? Check this story from the NY Times about the Feds shutting down (as of time of writing, megaupload.com is unavailable) and hauling Megaupload.com into court for "piracy." Sure, it's users probably upload a lot of pirated material, but the site itself is just a tool.

Now imagine this scenario, only the Corporations and Feds don't need to drop charges on a site. They just pull the plug because they feel like it. They can do this right now, but they want more legislation and more power.

Scary shit, huh? Total "1984"/Commie China bullshit, if you ask us. "BUT THIS IS 'MERIKA, HOME OF THE FREE EVERYTHING!" you may cry. Well, it's not gonna be free much longer,

Filthy Minions, I want you to take a seat.  Right there.  That's it.  Now, I have something kinda important that I want to discuss with you.  No, not "the birds and the bees;" I suspect you already know enough about that.  You see, there comes a time in every podcast's life where things start changing.  Funny changes.  Like, maybe one of their hosts is missing.  But don't fret, this is a completely natural thing, and should be embraced.

No, we are not getting a divorce; I'm just going away for a while.  I'm all out of PFR juice, so I need to take some time to myself.  To reflect, to vanquish new enemies, climb mountains of beer cans, sleep with lusty princesses from other planets, that sort of thing.  Don't worry, Filthy Minions, I will always hate you, from the very bottom of my heart.

If you've been following news in the northern areas of the US, you might know that Bison BC recently had to bow out of one of it's shows, due to being detained at the border.  The stoner metal act from Vancouver, BC, was attempting to...  well, I'll let guitarist and vocalist James Farwell tell the story:

"Due to our vicious plot to undermine the American economy and to destroy the citizens of the United States of America's belief in freedom and baseball or whatever, we weren't allowed to cross that fascinating imaginary line. More likely due to a fucking clerical error somewhere in Corporate America, the fine people at Homeland Security had no choice but to keep Americans secure from us dirty fucking Canadians. But fear not my fellow poser Canadians, we will get our fucking paper work in order soon enough and be down destroying things before you can say, 'Does Celine Dion shit in the fucking woods?!,' -- and yes indeed she does. As some of you may have remembered from yesterday (and by yesterday, we mean way back in the day, on a Thursday), Neil and Dom are going to be at Wasteland Weekend in September.

"What, pray tell, is Wasteland Weekend," you Minions ask?

Wasteland Weekend is like Renn Faire, or Burning Man, except without all the hippy bullshit.  Imagine a combination of Fallout, Mad Max, and all the other post-apocalyptic fiction/cinema you love, come to life.

COME TO FUCKING LIFE.  BARTERTOWN.  IT LIVES.

So, if you're gonna be in the SoCal area on or around September 23rd-25th, drag your ass out to Wasteland Weekend and come visit us.  We'll be running the Last Chance Casino, the last casino in town before you hist what's left of the California coast.

For all you In Extremo fans out there, the end of February is gonna be a good month for you.

February 25th will be the release date for "Sterneneisen" ("Iron Star"), the upcoming album from the German folk-metal band.  Coinciding with this is the February 18th release of the single album entitled "Zigeunerskat".

The 12-track album will be made available in standard CD, limited Special Edition (CD + DVD ), limited Deluxe Edition (2 CD & DVD, belt buckle, Sprühschablone (I have no clue, though amazon.de lists it as being "200mm H x 137mm W"), flag, button, & sticker), and limited vinyl edition including download codes.  The DVD versions are a recording of last year's "True Years" anniversary concert.

I dunno about you guys, but I am super stoked for this.
